Alphaville from 1984.
Alphaville from 2005.
These are some really great commercials from Lincoln. The theme is awesome, but the cars could use some bolder exterior styling. The interiors are really nice however.
The ads are quite effective. There’s 360 views of the interior and exterior paired with dark lighting and fairly modern music. There’s no distracting voiceover and all of them end with a simple two liner slogan reminiscent of the Apple commercials. Very effective, and I assume they must be trying to target a younger demographic. Better than the old Mr. Scruff commercials. Makes me want to buy one, even though the build quality is probably rubbish.
Power windows. The hot new feature.
Found some great new bands this summer.
Spread Your Wings – Queen
Vicious Delicious – Infected Mushroom
Trippy, calming, many things all at once.
Hey Jude – Beatles
Going Home – Kenny G
After many years, I finally found the name of this song I heard many times in restaurants, hotels and such. His music doesn’t seem to have much variety though, and it gets old fast, but it’s always calming.
I gave up too quickly.
You paddle up to an island where you know there are two types of people: Liars and Truth Tellers. Liars ALWAYS lie, and Truth-Tellers ALWAYS tell the truth. You see 3 people on the beach. Liars and Truth Tellers often hang out together, so these 3 natives could be any combination of liars and truth tellers.
You ask, “Are you liars or truth-tellers?” and the first guy answers your question, but a big wave crashes on the beach just then. The natives hear the answer, but you do not.
So you repeat the question, and this time the second guy responds. He says, “The first guy told you that he is a truth-teller”. The second guy then continues, “The first guy actually is a truth-teller”. Finally, the second guy states, referring now to himself, “I am a truth-teller”.
At this point the 3rd guy decides to respond. He says, “No, the second guy is lying. I am a truth-teller.”
Who’s a liar and who’s a truth teller?
Here are the only possible accusations, where x=impossible and o=possible. It is assumed each person knows the status of the others.

Earth 2100 was a recent ABC show that analyzes the potential outcomes of current environmental trends. Mostly doom and gloom, capped off with an optimistic outcome if we take action.
Plot was significantly worse than the first two. It was mostly a bad amalgam of various aspects of the legend of Qinshi Huangdi. Obviously, I wasn’t watching for the plot. I do enjoy my mummy, zombie and horror films, and on the basis of sheer entertainment, it did deliver.
The most inspiring part was probably the credits. Some beautiful brushstroke animation there. Would be perfect if applied to an Asian themed web design.
